The Portuguese BIAL foundation is sponsoring a piece of research on pilgrimage, being undertaken in the Ian Ramsey Centre by Dr Miguel Farias and others.

4) The OXCSOM Project
Dr Farias has also completed work for this project, funded by the John Templeton Foundation, on the effect religious belief has on the perception of pain. Read the article here. See also articles about this research in The Daily Telegraph, Science News and Scientific Blogging.
