in association with the
Science and Religion Forum September 12th - 15th 2005 EINSTEIN, GOD and TIME The Clarendon Laboratory, Oxford |
2005 marked the hundredth anniversary of the publication of three of Albert Einstein's most famous papers , on the photoelectric effect, the special theory of relativity, and on statistical mechanics. His work on special and general relativity caused a massive re-assessment of the nature of time in physics, a discussion which continues to this day. This conference looked at time in science and in theology, and addressed some of the basic questions that this presents. The sessions took place in the Martin Wood Lecture Theatre , Clarendon Laboratory , part of the Department of Physics .
