The Po Lin Monastery is run by modern administrative measures and governed by a Board of Directors. All the directors are monks; and positions such as the Abbot, supervisor and protocol officers are nominated by the Directors. As far as day-to-day operation is concerned, the Abbot is the head of the Monastery; the supervisor is his deputy who assists in all the administration and sundry works pertaining to the Monastery. When important issues arise, resolutions will be reached through discussion of the Board of Directors.
