Open Days 2011: listen over danske partnere foreligger

26.05.2011 -Forberedelserne til årets Open Days , den europæiske uge for regioner og byer, tager fart i foråret, inden sommerens tilmeldinger. Tre danske partnere har allerede besluttet at afholde arrangementer i Bruxelles og i deres hjemegn om Europa med en regional dimension og regioner med en europæisk dimension. Hvis De også har lyst til at stå for et arrangement af europæisk karakter i forbindelse med Open Days, så skriv til os og fortæl om Deres idéer inden den 27. maj.

New association gives voice to Europe’s small towns

22.03.2011 - A new European grouping – the Confederation of Small Towns and Municipalities of the European Union (CTME) – was officially launched in Brussels on 15 February 2011. Its aim is to ensure that the voices of Europe’s small and medium-sized towns are heard at European level and that their interests are fully represented.

CoR members welcome proposals for a sustainable future for Europe’s High North

22.03.2011 - On 20 January, the European Parliament adopted a resolution on ‘A Sustainable EU policy for the High North’, in which it called for the definition of clear EU policy guidelines for the Arctic region that will allow for the sustainable, ethical and responsible exploitation of the region’s natural resources – a move that was broadly welcomed by the members of the Committee of the Regions who hail from that part of Europe.

The CoR and the Hungarian presidency: shared goals

21.02.2011 - For the first six months of 2011, Hungary will take over the rotating presidency of the EU for the first time since joining the European Union in 2004. The economic crisis and social integration are among the country's priorities for its six-month stint in charge, issues that are also of importance to the Committee of the Regions.
