Fred Blankenship
General Assignment Reporter
"The best part of my job is the daily glimpse I get into the lives of extraordinary people!" "My goal is to be a storyteller not just a reporter. I found out early in my career that people drive the story and I'm just there to guide them in the right direction." Fred's job at 10NEWS as a General Assignment Reporter allows him to do just that. As an African-American in a profession with a great deal of visibility, Fred feels that he has an obligation to the community to be a positive role model, showing them that you can accomplish whatever you set your mind to.
Despite his hectic schedule, Fred enjoys reading and playing basketball. Fred is also an active mentor for the Big Brother's organization. He also enjoys visiting Los Angeles where his family and two dogs Chauncey and Lou live.
