MUSCOVITES WIN TABLE TENNIS TOURNAMENT FOR LIMITED-ABILITIES ATHLETES

This North Russian city hosted a 12th international table tennis tournament for persons affected with locomotor system diseases or injuries.
Finished today, the event brought together 83 contestants from 25 Russian and Belarussian provinces, eight of them wheelchair-ridden.
Moscow athletes knew no rival. Gennady Voronin, absolute champion, who did fine at the latest Panolympics in Spain's Barcelona, has one arm amputated.
Another Muscovite, Raissa Chebonika, this year's European champion, scored an absolute victory among women players.
Gennady Voronin had won nine previous Novgorod tournaments, and Raissa Chebonika ten.
