Although Harold seemed unhappy about looking after his son David's brand new BMW, it didn't take much convincing from Lou for him to take it for a joy ride.
According to Ian Smith who plays long time Ramsay Street resident Harold, he truly can't understand why Harold would be opposed to driving such a luxurious automobile.
"I know Ian Smith wouldn't have a problem with it and I don't see what was wrong with him taking it anyway," laughed Ian. "Ian Smith would love to take the beamer for a run, but Harold was against it, because the script said he had to be. Ian Smith quite agreed. In fact he thought it was a wonderful idea."
When asked whether he was able to take the car for a spin around the block after filming the scene, Ian anwered,
"No I didn't actually. That was the only part that I objected to!"
