Islamic Society of North America

Grant Resource Center

On behalf of The Islamic Society of North America we are happy to welcome you to participate in the ISNA Grant Development Center. This evolving center was born out a growing need to provide training, technical assistance and other resources to Islamic Organizations, Institutions and Agencies that are serving the comprehensive needs of Human Beings both Internationally and domestically.

During recent Community Development and Education Conferences in Orlando, Florida and Chicago, Illinois, Muslim and Non-Muslim participants responded to the Grant Writing sessions in significant numbers. As a result spin off Grant Writing Workshops have been held in Detroit, MI; Toledo, OH; Washington, DC; Philadelphia, PA; Richmond, VA; Atlantic City, NJ; Boston, MA and Buffalo, NY. In addition, request for assistance with proposal development and referrals into the Federal Peer review process have increased.

In an attempt to be proactive and responsive to the emerging interest of Muslims in seeking Federal, State, Local and Foundation Funding opportunities in taking advantage of President Bush's Faith and Community Based Initiative, ISNA launches its Grant Development Center Website that will provide a significant number of resources to website participants.

Among the resources that are currently available on the ISNA Grant Development Center Website are training curricula and papers on strategic planning, organizational development, personal development, template documents, web links to funding and other resources and audio/video web cast of conference presentations in all of these topic areas.

ISNA is happy to announce that there will be a three-hour 2-part workshop on Grant Writing at the ISNA 2003 Annual Islamic Convention in Chicago. In addition, plans are also underway to include an intensive Grant Writing Session in the Community Development Conference scheduled during the 2003 Christmas Time in Long Beach, California.

Future plans for the ISNA Grant Writing Center Website include:

  • The development of an interactive forum where participants can have responses to questions provided for the by the Director of the site Dr. Khalifah Ramadan.
  • The provision of fee based proposal review and proposal development for Islamic organizations, agencies and institutions.
  • The development of interactive Power Point curricula so that the participant can view the presentation and hear the presentation simultaneously.

Jazakum Allahu Khairun for visiting the ISNA Grant Development Center Website and we look forward to hearing from you regarding ways we can improve the site to be more responsive to your organizational and individual needs.
