Talen is a program director for Knight's Communities Program. She oversees
grant development and grant making and works with a Community Advisory
Committee in two of the foundation's communities.

Background
Most recently,
Talen was senior vice president of nonprofit and foundation partnerships
for DoTheGood Inc., an online philanthropy company. Prior to that,
she was a longtime senior program officer at the Dayton Hudson Foundation
where she managed Dayton Hudson's $3 million social action grant-making
portfolio. She was also responsible for directing Child Care Aware,
a $10 million public/private collaboration that increased professionalism
of family child care in over 35 communities. Past professional roles
include manager of community affairs for Target Stores and executive
director of the Minneapolis Girls Club. Talen has a bachelor of arts
degree in sociology from Wellesley College and a master of science
degree in business from University of Wisconsin.
