THE PRESS COMMISSION

MISSION

The IOC Press Commission is responsible for advising Organising Committees for the Olympic Games on the provision of the best possible working conditions for the world's written and photographic press at the Olympic Games.

The Commission is made up of experts in the field of sports/Olympic journalism and it makes recommendations to the IOC Executive Board about press operations and services within the framework of the Olympic Games.

The success of the Olympic Games is, to a large extent, judged by the public and media. It is thus the Press Commission's duty to help ensure that success is achieved by providing conditions which allow journalists to work at their best.

COMPOSITION OF THE COMMISSION

The commission is a consultative body composed of the three components of the Olympic Movement (IOC, IFs and NOCs), as well as a representative of the athletes and the Paralympic Movement and independent members.
