American Security Challenge Awards $100,000 to TeleContinuity, Inc.

WASHINGTON, June 27, 2008 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ ----TeleContinuity, a firm that provides critical government agencies and businesses with backup, survivable voice communications during any disaster, emergency, telecom outage or evacuation has won the 2008 American Security Challenge held in Washington, D.C. June 5. In addition to TeleContinuity, former Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security Tom Ridge was awarded the Patriot Award for his outstanding service to secure the nation's citizens and assets.

"The government has relied primarily and historically on the private sector to come up with the technology we need to defend and secure America" said Ridge in his acceptance speech. Nearly 100 start-up firms submitted business plans to the nation's only business plan competition devoted to security. "The breadth and depth of the technologies ushering our next generation of security is astounding," said American Security Challenge Chair Roger London, "we are excited and heartened to see the types and level of companies competing for the opportunity to protect our nation."

In conjunction with the 2008 Homeland Security S&T Stakeholders Conference East, presented by the National Defense Industrial Association with subject matter support provided by the Science & Technology Directorate (S&T) of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the Challenge selected six finalists to compete for the chance to win $100,000.

"The companies we saw are the best of breed in their spaces we see these technologies important both for homeland security and defense but also for commercial applications," said Nobska Venture's Dr. Ari Tuchman. Nobska Ventures funded the $100,000 prize money for the American Security Challenge.

TeleContinuity, Inc. Receives Telecommunications Carrier License from Japanese Government

TOKYO, March 18 /PRNewswire/ -- TeleContinuity, Inc. announced today that it has been granted a Type II Carrier License from the Japanese Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications. Effective as of February 28, 2008, the license will enable TeleContinuity to provide carrier services to the Japanese marketplace including VoIP, voice and data access as well as its flagship survivable telecommunications network to commercial, residential and government organizations throughout Japan.
