Guide for Applicants

Thank you for your interest in working for NZDF.  This Guide is designed to assist you with your application.

How to Apply

You can apply online or by mail:   

Apply Online
When viewing the advert for the job you are applying for, click the 'Apply Online' hyperlink to the right of the advert.  You will be prompted to fill out an online application form and statistical form, and to attach your Curriculum Vitae (CV).
Apply by Email 
Print out the application documents below, complete them and post them in.

Please forward the following in with your mail application:

  • Completed Application for Employment form, 
  • A covering letter outlining your suitability for the job. This should address the knowledge, skills experience, competencies and other requirements contained in the job description,
  • A copy of your CV, and
  • A completed Applicant Statistical Information Form (optional).

Notes:

  • You will need the free Adobe Reader to read these files. This is available to download free of charge at www.adobe.com.
  • If you require the job application files in a different format please use our contact form to request a printed copy by mail.
  • Sometimes pdf files may crash your browser or print badly, rather than open the pdf file directly, right click on the link and choose "save target as ..." from the context menu. This will allow you to save the file to your local hard drive.
  • For ease of processing and photocopying, please do not provide CVs and applications bound, or in folders.   A copy (not the original) of your CV is requested, as CVs are not returned following completion of the recruitment process.
  • Your application will be acknowledged by mail or email.

Curriculum Vitae (CV)

Your CV should contain the following:

  • Full employment history (most recent position first);
  • Education, training and qualifications which are relevant to the position;
  • Any other relevant information and details of experience.
