SAIT-1
The SAIT-1 format offers a data capacity rate of 500GB (1.3TB compressed), and a 30MB/s (78MB/s compressed) data transfer rate. This capacity is obtained as a result of much higher areal recording densities achievable with helical-scan technology and by using the SAIT cartridge, which, at one-half inch wide and 600 meters long, contains five times the recordable area of 8mm AIT media.

SAIT-2
SAIT-2 is now in development. SAIT-2 follows the SAIT roadmap specifications of doubling capacity and performance from the prior generation, and is expected to offer 1TB of native capacity (2.6TB compressed), with a data transfer rate of 60MB/s (156MB/s compressed). SAIT-2 is planned to be read and write compatible with SAIT-1.

SAIT-3
SAIT-3 is planned to offer 2TB of native capacity (5.2TB compressed), with a data transfer rate of 120MB/s (312MB/s compressed). SAIT-3 is planned to be read and write compatible with SAIT-2 and read compatible with SAIT-1.
