Store Busted in Oklahoma, Porn Confiscated

Pocola, Okla. — Police raided and closed a local adult video store, alleging that the store sold material in violation of state obscenity laws.

Authorities began investigating Adult World after locals leveled complaints at the store. After a month-long undercover investigation, authorities alleged that the store had been selling obscene material, and that booths in the back of the store had been used to perform lewd sex acts. According to police, more than 40 people were witnessed to have partaken in sex acts in the store.

While Police Chief Eric Helms was convinced that the storeowners, who remain unnamed at present, could be charged with several crimes, no arrests were made.

“This is trash, and I hope this is the end of it for our community, and for the Christian community and everybody out here,” Helms said. “I hope this is the end of it.”

Bringing an end to porn in Pocola, rather than prosecution, was the sole objective of the raid, according to police, who plan to destroy the confiscated material, which includes DVDs and magazines.

Precisely how much material was seized is still unknown; however, police estimated that it would take them all night to inventory and seize the videos and magazines in question.

In the meantime, The Hometown Channel, a local news station that accompanied police on the raid and followed them during their month-long investigation is promising to air a full report on the matter this Sunday.

“You'll be shocked to find out what people were doing and who was arrested,” a promotion for the story read.
