Adult Entertainment Gives Something Back

Los Angeles — The fact that there is no such thing as nonprofit porn hasn’t stopped a handful of adult entertainment notables from giving something back to their communities. Among the companies and individuals taking time out for charity are Dane Productions, KSEX, Hustler and Shy Love.

Dane Productions and KSEX will join forces for the annual Jerry Lewis Labor Day telethon to help those suffering from muscular dystrophy.

"I spoke to Wankus and Batman of KSEX Radio,” Bob of Dane Productions said. “They were kind enough to plug the MDA Telethon this Labor Day weekend. I really appreciate the support I have been receiving so far. I have a lot of ways for our industry to help out. Clubs can participate, as well as individuals. The first day, I had seven people confirmed to work with me, manning the phones. The six, besides myself, are Mara Epstein, Elizabeth Vasquez, Marty O’Malley, Batman, Belle D’ Leon and Devon Michael."

Wankus has agreed to donate free KSEX airtime to publicize the telethon.

"We are always supportive of charity and doing the right thing to help those that have difficulty in their lives,” Wankus said. “As an industry, we have the ability to make this world a better place and since the MDA have welcomed our donations with open arms, we're opening our hearts to them in return."

In addition to mobilizing volunteers, Dane Productions has solicited donations for the cause to be collected through the Free Speech Coalition.

Along similar lines, Hustler and contract girl Shy Love have agreed to donate a day on set to the GangbustersTheatre Company to benefit The National Brain Tumor Foundation.

Love, a cancer survivor, will auction off a day on a Hustler set with her for charity.

“Having dealt with cancer up close, I am always eager to offer any help I can to assist in raising money for the advancement of treatments and cures,” Love said.

The silent auction will be held Aug. 5 in Los Angeles.
