Industry Volunteers Step Up for the Jerry Lewis Telethon

September 5, 2006 - Free Speech Coalition member Bob, Vice President of Dane Productions, coordinated volunteers through FSC for the nationally televised Jerry Lewis telethon fundraiser Sunday night September 3rd.

“A great group of caring people joined me at KCET studios in Los Angeles to help in the battle against neuromuscular disease,” said Bob. “They came, and worked tirelessly throughout the evening manning the phones, taking pledges, both on camera and off.”

Free Speech Coalition would like to recognize Bob for his leadership and philanthropy, and the kindness of the following volunteers: MICHELLE ASTON, BATMAN, TIFFANY BELL, VANESSA BLUE, DIMITRI COSMOS, VICTORIA DUNN, MICHAEL FATTOROSI, KREA FEDAK, MICHELLE FRERIDGE, JAY MOYES, MARTY O’MALLEY, JONATHAN RAE, KEN TREVIAS, DAVE TOBEY, LIZ VASQUEZ, and SHERRY ZIEGELMEYER. The final total that was contributed to the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) exceeded $10,000.

“You people last night were the best of the best.” Bob wrote in a thank you email to all the volunteers, “You helped people you will most likely never know. You saw the devastation this disease causes, no matter what age. This year was very important to me because there have been key research breakthroughs in Pompe’s disease, Duchenne muscular dystrophy, and other disorders. THE ADULT INDUSTRY CAME THROUGH!”

“This event raised public awareness Free Speech Coalition, and made a positive statement for the image of the adult entertainment industry,” stated Michelle Freridge, FSC Executive Director, “because the FSC name was visible to millions of viewers and the volunteers represented the industry so well.”

Free Speech Coalition is the trade organization of the adult entertainment industry. Its mission is to safeguard the industry from oppressive governmental regulation and to promote good business practices within the industry.
