September 21 is International Day of Peace
Celebrate with Pinwheels for Peace

Pinwheels for Peace Logo Copyright 2007 Ann Ayers

"Imagine....Whirled Peace". Project began by Ann Ayers and Ellen McMillan, two Florida Art Educators. The website, http://www.pinwheelsforpeace .com has been updated and they are starting to add participants to their map as you join (or re- join).  This year, there is  an official song that was written and recorded by a former student - when you hear it, you'll agree that it
definitely captures the spirit of the project!  For those who wanted t-shirts and posters, they're also ready to order.  The site also has a discussion board to share ideas, pinwheel directions and a template for making pinwheels. Spread the word! 2006 was a huge success. Ann estimates there were one million pinwheels spinning around the world. Plan ahead for 2007.
