SPECIAL SCREENINGS
The Film Festival has several films outside the competition market. These select screenings will focus on a handful of subjects including Cinema Kokopelli (Native American,) Senior Screen, and ¡Floreo! (Latin American.) Zion National Park has a rich history of Shishone, Paiute, and Navajo people. All natives have a story to tell seldom seen in the Hollywood movie. The program will include as many Native American stories as it seems fit for both the films in competition as well as the special screenings. Likewise, the voice of our seniors and the imagination of children is seldom addressed on screen. True inspiration comes from deep within and not through the stereotypes we are familiar with. In the future, the festival plans to hold youth filmmaker camps. These workshops will teach leadership skills and independence. The setting of Zion National Park promises a positive, serene outlook.
