Azu UdoguMay 31, 2007: Azu Udogu’s memorial service will be held at Simply Blue – a popular gay nightclub in Braamfontein, Johannesburg – today 31 May 2007 from 19:00pm.

 

Udogu, a well-known entertainer within the gay community, passed away on 24 May as a result of kidney failure at Helen Joseph Hospital just several of days after her 32nd birthday on 18 May.

 

The Nigerian national who stayed in the northern suburbs of Johannesburg in South Africa achieved so much as an individual in that she was a drag artist, a performer and owner of Azu-Link travel agency.

 

Condolences poured from friends, also describing her as sweet but tough coming to her ideologies and beliefs. “Anita was a sister I never had… a positive motivating force in my life and she made my life complete”, one friend described.

 

Udogu will be remembered by friends for her carefree attitude and jokes.
