Preventing the prompt to reinstall WGA notification update

Once you have removed the WGA notification tool from your system, the Automatic Update will bug you to install it again (that you do not wish if you read this page).
Of course, if your Automatic Update is set to automatically download and install updates without prompting, you are exposing yourself to the WGA notification update being installed again.

How to prevent the update to install again or to prompt you eveytime ? Below is a quick howto (screenshots are in French, but there is red arrows to show where to click)

1 - Turn off Automatic Updates, and click APPLY (Work Station, Properties, Auto Updates)

Option 4 :

2 - Turn on Automatic Updates with the "notify only" option (click Apply too)

Option 3 :

3 - Reboot your computer

4 - You will now get the update icon (yellow shield) in the system tray

5 - Click on the icon and a dialog box opens offering WGA Notification

6 - Uncheck the box. The "Download" button changes to "Close"

7 - Click the "Close" button

8 - A new window opens up asking if you want to ignore this update

9 - Check the box, and say "yes." The window closes and you won't be bothered again with this update

I don't know if reverting back then to automatic download but ask before installing, will keep the exclusion or not, and won't download the WGA notification update again. That's why it's better to keep the aformentioned settings.

(If you try, please keep me informed of the results)
