Mission Statement‘To run a professional, affordable and sustainable national championship based on sound business principles, that ensures long term stability whilst maintaining a competitor focus and encouraging manufacturer and competitor input’ AGTSG Pty Ltd Company DirectorsMartin Wagg ObjectivesThe Australian GT Sportscar Group P/L (AGTSG) will conduct the Australian GT Championship (AGTC) 2008 under the Championship Sporting and Technical Regulations as presented in the CAMS 2008 manual. The AGTSG will promote and develop the category and series using sound business and sporting principals, the key objectives are listed below. Competitor Satisfaction Provide an arena and atmosphere that gives all competitors a level of competitive satisfaction and personal enjoyment that promotes a desire to participate and attracts new competitors. Competitor Input Be actively diligent in listening to and acting upon competitor input that provides a benefit to the category and series. To actively source competitor input on issues relevant to the category and series. Manufacturer Involvement To actively promote the support and involvement of manufactures with products which are relevant to the category and series. Stability To work with CAMS in developing a long term stable future for the category, with consistency in planning, regulations, implementation, series and commercial management. Sustainability To develop the category and series in a manner that provides a sustainable long term future. Future AGTSG P/L and its principals are dedicated to the long term success of the category and series, its own existence is dependant on this and its ability to secure commercial support. The core elements to achieve success are to recognise that the majority of our competitors are recreational drivers wanting to compete in a televised National Series that is stable and affordable. We further recognise the need to work with CAMS towards the end goal of a Series for Production Based Cars with an even spread of cars and involved manufacturers. It is seen that this will be a 3 year program that will see many of the current cars phased out and new cars that fit the goals of CAMS and the Category introduced. This will be developed in line with the current FIA GT3 structure currently being developed in Europe. This structure allows for 8-10 participating manufacturers developing a “Challenge” specification car, a production based car that is modified for racing. This plan will see a limited number of Teams Agreements issued for participating Marques with a limit to the number of cars per Marque, i.e; Ferrari, Porsche, Maserati, Lamborghini, Corvette, Dodge, Ford and Aston Martin 6 Teams Agreements, 6 cars. Each Marque will have its own Challenge within the Australian GT Championship. |
