BRITISH UNIVERSITIES AMERICAN FOOTBALL LEAGUE OFFICIAL SITE

The BUAFL’s MVP Game, also popularly known as the ‘All Star game’ is the annual end of season game between players selected from the Conferences which constitute the League. Historically this has always been a team representing the Northern Conference taking on a team from the Southern Conference.

With the BUAFL moving to a four conference format from the 2008/09 season the MVP teams will for one year become representative of two conferences until it is hoped that in 2009/10 there will be a multi-team MVP Series which will see a team representing each of the Home Nations competing to become Home Nation Champions.

The first BUAFL MVP Game took place at the home of one of the newest members of the League –Bucks New University, where the Northern MVP team ran out 12-7 victors over the South.

Selection of managers and coaches

The selection of the Head Coach had traditionally been based upon awarding the honour to the Head Coaches of the teams who were knocked out at the semi final stage of the university league season.

From the 2008/09 season the Head Coaches will be identified in prior to the start of the season by a selection panel drawn from the BUAFL, BAFCA and the National Programme.
