Roger is the grandson of the "Migrant Mother" and the son of the girl that clings so closely to her. Roger grew up around his grandmother and now (with the help of his wife Kay, a twenty year educator) is prepared to impart the true story of his grandmother. Among the exhibits that will be on display are all six (6) of the photographs of the family taken by Dorthea Lange. Included is a discussion of the "myths" and "falsehoods" that have surrounded the photograph since it was taken.

Mr. and Mrs. Sprague have been guest speakers at; The Smithsonian, The Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. and the J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles. They are annual guests at the Weedpatch Camp "Dustbowl Days" celebration each October.
