Smoking Guns: Air Defense and Chain of Command
· The Emperor's New Clothes 9/11 Page by Jared Israel & Illarion Bykov. First to provide compelling analyses of two smoking guns: 
1) The "failure" of standard air defense procedures, under which jet fighters should have been scrambled in time to intercept the hijacked jets, reconnoiter and await further orders; and 
2) The absence from authority of the top men in the military chain of command during the two hours of the actual attacks, according to their own accounts. (Bush and entourage in the school; Rumsfeld; Myers; later it was revealed that Gen. Winfield was also away from his post during the attacks). 
· Question for NORAD and FAA: What were the response times on the 67 occasions when interceptors were routinely scrambled to intercept off-course planes in the year prior to June 1, 2001? What about the 129 cases when jets were scrambled in 2000? Remember, when the Sept. 11 hijackings began, these were "errant planes" and should have been subject to the routine response.

The Pakistani Connection
· Timeline of Pakistani ISI connection to financing of the alleged 9/11 hijackers On the morning of Sept. 11, ISI chief Mahmud Ahmad had breakfast at the Capitol with the later directors of the Congressional probe into 9/11: Bob Graham and Porter Goss. (Why wasn't Goss asked about this at his Senate confirmation hearings as Director CIA?) Ahmad was later accused of sending $100,000 to Mohamed Atta, and forced to resign. Why isn't this explained or even mentioned in any official U.S. investigation? The agent said to be responsible for the cash transfer was Omar Saeed Sheikh, see:

Prior Knowledge and Imagination
Who knew, what did they know, what did they do about it? How did so many governments and individuals develop information indicating hijackings and aerial attacks on New York and DC in September? Jordan provided the correct name of the operation, Israel provided names of several of the alleged hijackers, the Russian president says he warned suicide pilots were training for an attack in the U.S. How does this square with the official FBI account, in which a perfectly secretive, insulated terror cell of 19 men left as good as no clues before they struck? What were the original sources for the many advance warnings to the U.S. government? And how can anyone claim they couldn't have even imagined the method of attack?

Insider trading based on foreknowledge?
The Herzliyah Policy Institute in Tel Aviv initially broke the story that an unusually high number of put options (short-sells) were placed on the stock of the attacked airlines in the week before Sept. 11. Within days of 9/11, officials at financial centers around the world - including the head of the German Bundesbank - announced they had discovered countless suspicious trades indicating foreknowledge. This was the smoking gun, they said. Thorough investigations were promised. Suddenly, the story was dropped...

There were also indications of shady dealings at the WTC itself, where many millions were transferred out of accounts during the attacks, see:

A footnote to "The 9/11 Commission Report" dismisses these leads (as did the SEC - after waiting until Aug 2004). The report mentions only the put options on the airlines, ignoring other companies such as the WTC tenants and reinsurers. It does not name who made the put-option trades in the U.S., but exculpates these parties simply because they are "have no conceivable connection to al-Qaeda" (as though no one outside of al-Qaeda could have had prior knowledge of the attacks). And what about the investigations of suspicious trades outside the U.S.?

· The Original "Mad Cow" Articles by Daniel Hopsicker 
Tracking Mohamed Atta and his Florida drug connections, well worth reading in the original order (2001-2002). Interesting nuggets with independent confirmation: "Magic Dutch boy" Florida flight school owners Dekkers and Kruithof claimed not to know each other, but had prior business relationship in Netherlands. Three of the alleged 9/11 pilots trained at their schools. Jeb Bush personally present as federal agents impounded police records of flight schools after 9/11 attacks, according to local police. Real owner of Dekkers's school, Wally Hilliard, owned Lear jet impounded with 43 lbs. of cocaine in 2000 (on a regular flight), indicating involvement in covert drug operations. Katharine Harris endorsed Hilliard's bankrupt, pond-hopper airline. Dekkers and Kruithof survived separate suspicious air crashes within weeks of each other in 2002. Atta apparently a heavy-drinking, free-spending, aggressive party monster. Official timeline of Atta's movements contradicted by eyewitness accounts. Possible military school connections.

The Israeli Art Student Files (2001 forward) Before and after 9/11, around 120 Israelis posing as art students, many of whom tried to infiltrate federal facilities, were arrested and later deported. Evidence suggests some members of this apparent spy ring were tracking the alleged 9/11 hijackers. Were they the source for the Mossad warning of Aug 2001, which specified the names of at least four of the allaeged ringleaders? See also:

Question: How does this square with the certainty about hijacker identities, let alone the many stories of advance warnings and near-misses that could have stopped them?

The following expresses the opinion of this site's editor, and not necessarily the consensus among all New York 9/11 truth movement activists.

Bad Science
Much attention since 2004 has been devoted to a series of dubious physical evidence bombshells, especially those promoted in the film "911: In Plane Site" and at the site LetsRoll911.org. While I do not automatically rule out any theory, the evidence these two sources present for their particular theories is fallacious, and their insistence on its validity, despite a series of embarrassing refutations, is wearying. No offense is meant to those who have been taken in by false interpretations of video clips; most of the people spreading these fallacies mean well, and on first sight, I thought I saw "the pod" too. But these claims are superfluous to the 9/11 skeptics' case and easily refuted - which is why those who wish to "debunk" 9/11 research invariably focus on them. The big picture still points towards complicity in the attacks by elements of the U.S. government. We don't need invented evidence.
