Mighty River Power – a partner of the 2010 World Rowing Championships – has officially named the army of volunteers gathering for the event as part of its event sponsorship deal.

The Karapiro Crew, as the volunteer force will be known, will be a fundamental and crucial part of the event. Anyone can be part of the Karapiro Crew and the team is looking for all sorts of people with all sorts of skills.

A regular newsletter is sent to all volunteers and organisers are already underway with a series of training days to help ensure the Karapiro Crew will be one of the best ever volunteer workforces in the history of the sport.

Mighty River Power also sponsors the domain – now known as the Mighty River Domain on Lake Karapiro – and is also a sponsor of Rowing New Zealand.
