The objective of this project is the development of an optoelectronic microfluidic system for the interconnection and control of microfluidic devices with highest possible modularity.
The main challenge is guiding fluids to any desired position in the backplane. It is hereby necessary to enable the transport of a fluid in its pure form as well as mixed with other fluids to any position of the system. Additionally, the fluidic backplane is to be supplemented by electronics and guided optics for control and supply of the devices.
The project is carried out within the cooperation of Bürkert Technology Center (BTC) and Institut für Mikrostrukturtechnik (IMT) at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and in the frame of Karlsruhe School of Optics and Photonics (KSOP).
