Consultation Process on monitoring trade in ornamental fish species

The trade in live ornamental fish is a global industry involving both wild-caught and captive-bred animals. However, little is known about the scale of the international trade in many species.

The current consultation process aims to engage with the various stakeholders to this industry, including trader organisations, trade regulators, academic experts and conservation organisations to consider the options available to monitor this trade.

The consultation process will consist of three consultative rounds. It is important that participants take into account the scope and timeline of each consultative round (see text of the Consultation paper for details).

All correspondence related to the consultation should be sent to ornamentalfishtrade@unep-wcmc.org
