Description [edit]
Tucked away in a residential neighborhood of West Allis, this family-owned restaurant is an excellent casual fine dining establishment. Come in for a drink in the bar-lounge area and enjoy live music entertainment by Fran the Piano Man (on Fridays) and Paul Varjack (on Saturdays). Call ahead and ask about the Happy Hour and Ladie's Night!

Have a cozy, quiet dinner in the dining room near the fireplace and enjoy the great service of the waitstaff and excellent food prepared by Chef Obed Figerora.

If you're lucky, owner, Zarko Zigich (aka: Zak) will treat you to a shot of the Croation's favorite drink: Kruskovac with a cherry, for the ladies, and Plum Brandy for the gentlemen!

What happened to this place? I went there recently after not having been to PVI in 8 years or so. The beautiful garden that added to the ambience is now just a plain yard. The fresh flowers on the table are replaced with fake ones. They still had a wine bottle Christmas tree up in the bar. And the food! My boyfriend enjoyed one of the Serbian dishes the new chef brought. But I had the shrimp/scallop pasta - flavorless sauce, odd tasting shrimp, gummy scallops that looked and felt more like mashed potatoes than seafood. And the bread basket, which a write-up posted at their door boasts will be a unique treat that includes dinner rolls as well as surprise treats such as zucchini bread or a variety of muffins, well, that's long gone. All we got were two processed-flour, run of the mill dinner rolls. The quality has gone WAY down here and I was really disappointed. When the waitress (who was prompt & friendly, I'll give her that) asked if I wanted a box for my leftovers, I made a yuck face and a firm "No way!" She didn't ask if there was a problem with the meal. Hmm.... On the way out, the bartender and cook in the vacant bar area didn't say a word to us and the hostess barely looked up from the phone to say good bye. I won't be back.

What a find! The quality of steaks and seafood rivals any found at the Jackson Grill, Butch's downtown. Eddie Martini's, Mo's, Capital Grille and others. Prices are reaonable. It is a supper club throwback. Worth the trip and so easy to find. Just a little off the beaten path. Go east on Oklahoma to 99th. Go 4 blocks, make a left on Dakota and you're there. We're certain to go back for many future trips. Our only regret is that we didn't find it sooner. Maybe Zak should change his name to begin with something earlier in the alphabet so that this jewel starts the list of steak houses in Milwaukee rather than acts as a conclusion.
