Tabiteuea, located 50 km northwest from Onotoa in the South Gilbert Islands, is the largest atoll of the Gilbert Islands. It consists of a 65 km long string of 6 large and several dozen minor islets that form the eastern side of a narrow atoll. Total land area of Tabiteuea is 38 km².
