Violations

Gay.com and the members of our communities agree to a set of Community guidelines and User Agreement when entering or registering to join our site.

If you are confronted with a violation of these rules in the chat room, you are first urged to contact a monitor by looking in the Help Room at the top of your floor and on other floors.

Monitors serve as volunteers to our community and so are not on a set schedule. If a monitor is unavailable, you can use the ignore function as a tool to protect yourself from some forms of harassment in the chat rooms. The ignore function is located in the "People" ("Women" on Women's Floor) pulldown menu, within each chat room.

Please understand that we can't act on a report based on a copy of text alleged to be from a chat room. Chat sessions are not logged so we cannot confirm the veracity of text that is cut and pasted from a chat room. A monitor must witness a violation in a chat room in order for action to be taken.

You may use this form to report violations, such as posting of nudity on profiles, message boards or homepages. (Although our service provider, Homestead, allows adult content on their sites, it is still prohibited under Gay.com's user agreement.)
