Leicester Longhorns
The Leicester Longhorns team are an affiliation between the University of Leicester and De Montfort University.
Leicester has fielded a BCAFL team since the former league''s second season in 1986-87. From 1986-2002, the team was known as the Leicester Lemmings, and from 2002-2006 the team was known as the Leicester Lightning.
The Longhorns have had an up and down history in the BCAFL, highlighted by two trips to the College Bowl in 1994 and 2000, winning their division in 2000 and have making the playoffs six times in their history.
The team has just come off its best season for 6 years and is hoping to build on this success in the coming year.
The team is headed by Duncan Burford, who was also offensive co-coordinator for the Northern Conference All Star (MVP) team to their win over the South in 2008.
