Mac OS X Users

The Carbon version of Fixation 2.1 will run as a standard application on OS X. You will need to have Mac OS 9.1 or 9.2 installed to run Fixation 2.0 in Classic mode.

System 7.x Users

You should be able to use Fixation 2.1 in the above link. NOTE: 2.1 will likely be the last version where System 7.x is supported.

Spanish Version

A Spanish version of Fixation 2.0.1 is also available. I would like to thank Wilfredo J. Malave Davila for translating the Fixation resources to Spanish. Download Fixation 2.0.1 (Spanish).

After Downloading

After downloading the file to your system, your browser should automatically run the Stuffit Expander helper application to convert and uncompress the Fixation files. If this does not happen, just run Stuffit Expander and select the downloaded file.
NOTE: Using Stuffit Deluxe 5.x to uncompress the Fixation archive may not work. A workaround is to use Stuffit Expander 5.1 or higher.

Running 2.x for the first time

Before running Fixation for the first time, you might want to go to the Preferences folder within the System Folder and make a copy of the "Fixation preferences" and "Fixation shortcuts" files.

Preferences File change

The preferences file format for Fixation 2.x has changed from Fixation 1.x. The first time you run Fixation 2.x, a dialog will appear stating that it could not find your preferences file. This is normal -- just allow it to proceed and your Fixation 1.4 preferences file will be converted to a Fixation 2.x preferences file. Your existing Fixation 1.x preferences file (Fixation Prefs) will not be changed by Fixation 2.x. Fixation 2.x does use and modify the "Fixation shortcuts" file.
NOTE: If you have Fixation 1.3 or earlier installed, the conversion will fail but a default 2.x preferences file will be created.
