Site updates...

Have you seen the article for the Battle of the Bay? It's worth a look even if you're not headed to the San Francisco area this weekend.
Our Desktop section is worth a listen this week with the addition of a new section : Sounds. If you have a Mac or a PC with a bland or nonexistent sound scheme, head over and turn your computer into a veritable Halo foley machine.

how that drive should be done!

There is an issue with account creation and sometimes logins as well right now. Blank pages and incorrect errors are being returned. Some users will not be able log in or create an account. I am working on the problem.

Maw 700 Contest 1 Results

Claude writes in to say: "Over at halo.bungie.org, Contest 1 of the Maw 700 closed today - and the winning time was an amazing 2:43.90. Congratulations to all entrants - anything over 2 minutes is pretty impressive - but most of all to Frogblast, who once again went where nobody else had. Full details (including Honorable Mentions) can be found at the Contest 1 page. Now it's time to gear up for Contest 2!"

Marty playing requests...

You asked for it, Bungie's own Marty O'Donnell has made available the sheet music to The Siege of Madrigal. It's short, it's simple, but oh-so-powerful. Click here to get the notation.

New Chapter For Founders

Posted by Anonymous User (Deleted) at 3/13/2002 3:19 AM PDT

New Chapter For Founders

I've created a new chapter, Chapter Founders, meant as a gathering place for those of you who run your own chapters. Right now you have to ask to join, but if people like it we'll automate things so that all founders are members. If you're running your own chapter head on over, join up, and participate!

New LAN Poll

Posted by Anonymous User (Deleted) at 3/12/2002 8:45 PM PDT

New LAN Poll

There's a new Bungie.net poll up, this time asking if you've been to a Halo LAN party.

According to our previous poll 6 out of every 10 of you belong to a Seventh Column chapter. Those of you that answered "What's the Seventh Column?" should read this. Those that can't find a chapter in their area should try searching by location. If there's not yet a chapter near you then keep an eye on the New Chapters list on the Seventh Column site (I just made it display location). Those of you without an Xbox have our sympathy. And for the rest, those that are afraid of people they meet on the Internet or that simply don't like people, you need to get out more!

New Job Opening

Posted by Evil Otto at 3/12/2002 5:55 PM PDT

New Job Opening

If you head over to Bungie.com and check out our jobs page you'll see we have a new opening for a producer. You'll also notice we still haven't filled our 3D environment artist position yet, so if you think you have the m4d sk1llz it takes to be a Bungie employee, swing on by.

Short Outage

Posted by Achronos at 3/11/2002 11:29 PM PDT

Short Outage

At approximately 4:15pm Pacific time www.bungie.net will be unavailable for about five minutes. The support site at support.bungie.com will also go offline, but it will be down for a longer period, maybe as much as an hour.

New Poll Up

HBO Interview Database

HBO Interview Database

Halo.bungie.org has added a database of all Halo Interviews. I was surprised to find my old HaloPlayers interview on there, from way back when we thought Halo would have Internet access. Jeez, things do change! Anyway, it's a great resource, be sure to check it out.

New Feature: Game Reviews

New Feature: Game Reviews

UpdateThank Cpt_Canuck for this idea, it was his suggestion.
I've forgotten who suggested this, but it seemed a fine idea so I went ahead and created a Game Review database type for chapters. Use it to post reviews and have members rate console games, PC games, board games, drinking games, whatever!

Extreme Close-ups & More...

This week on Tru7h & Reconciliation, we thought we'd try something new for our screenshot section: Extreme Close-ups. Some are easy to figure out, others may take a bit more work. We'll leave that up to you. ;o) Also we've added a new section--by request we've created a Desktop Section for customizing your PCs with all kinds of Halo goodness. This week, halo logo art, including the elusive gamestock splash screen.

Seventh Column Motto Revealed

Total Codex just reminded me that I never announced the official choice for the Seventh Column motto. Whoops. The official motto (currently being worked into a pretty friggin' cool shirt design) is "Tru7h. Carnage. Bungie."

New Feature: Site Change Log

Posted by Anonymous User (Deleted) at 3/6/2002 7:36 PM PST

New Feature: Site Change Log

It's a little odd to post news about every minor bug fix or change to the site to the top level on this site, so we've created a new home for these posts over on the left, beneath the poll. If you're looking for up to date news on known bugs or bug fixes or even minor feature additions for Bungie.net or your Seventh Column chapter sites then this is the place to go.

Additionally, you can submit news to Bungie. All that's required is a Bungie.net account. We will review your submission and if it is worthy we'll add it to our blog.
