"Don't ever let her go."

If you can get her to play Halo with you, that is.

G Spot28 from 411mania.com wrote in to tip us off to a new series of articles he's running where gamers' girlfriends sit down, play titles, and then give tips on how you can make the experience a good one for your significant other.  First up, Halo.

Turns out the lovely lady in the article didn't have such a good time with her playthrough.  5 out of 10?  No replay value?  Looks like Andi's gift grab bag must have gotten lost in the mail.  Oh well, girls are icky.  You know it.  I know it.  Hit the link below for the evidence.

Halo: Combat Evolved Now Available on Live

Posted by lukems at 12/4/2007 1:33 PM PST

Halo: Combat Evolved is now available for download on Xbox Live Marketplace as a part of Microsoft's new Xbox Originals program.

Last night's update to the Xbox Live Dashboard enabled a new feature on Xbox Live that allows gamers to download "Xbox Originals" to their HDD. Halo: Combat Evolved is one of the titles available for download. For 1200 Microsoft points, you can download the same version of Halo: Combat Evolved that is available on disc at various fine retailers. No changes, achievements or online functionality have been added to Halo: Combat Evolved.  However, it will scale to 1080p through the normal 360 scaler, should your TV support it.

Halo Map Battle!

Posted by SketchFactor at 3/24/2007 12:06 PM PDT

A Halo 2 enters its twilight years and Halo 3 looms on the horizon, we're embarking on a journey to determine which Halo multiplayer map is better than all the rest. Through a series of polls you can help us crown the ultimate killing ground in our Bungie.net "Map Battle."  Get to votin!

Halo has always been known for great multiplayer and it's not just due to the pistol or sword or any of the various means of destruction at your disposal. These tools are pointless if you don't have a good map to unleash them in.

Here at Bungie.net we're kicking off our first ever Halo "Map Battle" as we seek to determine which Halo multiplayer maps are truly the best of the best in the eyes of our fans.

Since our scientific poll system can only contain a maximum of 8 total entries, we've split the voting up across several different polls. We'll combine the highest scoring maps from Halo 1, Halo PC and Halo 2 into one final showdown to determine the overall winner.

It's time to step up and represent your favorite maps and rock the vote at the polls listed below. Check back soon for the next round of voting!

Halo 2 MP Map Poll (1 of 3) - VOTE HERE.

UPDATE! FIX THE VOTE!

Posted by Frankie at 11/5/2004 9:22 AM PDT

It's after Election Day and accusations of voter irregularities are still rife! GameSpy is still running a poll to decide which game folks are most excited about! Express your excitement for Halo by voting as many times as you like, as far as we can tell. The poll is on the front page of GameSpy on the bottom left!

Are we aiding in the voting irregularites? Yes. Halo Pride baby. Again, that's the front page of GameSpy on the bottom left! The voting is close now. TOO CLOSE! PS, we think Half Life 2 is rad, we would simply like to win the vote.

MLG has teamed up with HaloTV to bring MLG Atlanta – 50k3 to the masses. So what is HaloTV? Well, HaloTV is a constant stream of videos, matches, red vs. blue episodes, and when they are feeling in particularly special, live broadcasts. Well, guess what. Now is one of those times.

We will be broadcasting at least one major stream that will focus on the main stages, roving “crowd cams”, and interviews with professionally signed MLG players. On top of it all we will be archiving quite a bit of this footage for release after the tournament is all over, so if you are in attendance, you won’t miss a beat. MLG Chicago - Midwest Mayhem

MLG Chicago – Midwest Mayhem is coming to Chicago June 19th and 20th and promises to be one of the greatest tournaments of all time. It’s an MLG major, which means winners will receive double points and get one step closer to a free trip to Vegas with prizes no one has seen in the Halo Community. Its about to get crazy in Chi-town!

Just a short while from now teams from all over the country will be gathering at the luxurious Sheraton Chicago and Towers. Sounds kind of daunting doesn’t it? Well, it should! We have 12,000 sq. feet of exhibition space to use for the tournament. Like the Philly hotel, this is a higher end location, so the discounted rate we are receiving of $129 a night is a pretty big discount. We have developed a whole new format for this tourney that will prove to make everything that much more exciting. This is only the fourth city on the 2004 Season… so you and your team have plenty of time still to catch up to the leaders and compete with the best while pocketing over $10,000 in prizes in Chicago alone. Tons of side games and over $10,000 in cash as always will be present to sweeten the deal and guarantee a fun weekend for all. If you have any questions you can get in touch with me personally at dolbex@mlgpro.com or find a ton of information on the official website: www.chitownmayhem.com. There is still time to register and 52 Sony Wega TV's to go around. (Ohh.. what a beautiful site) Hope to see you in Chicago!

Going Nowhere Fast

Posted by SketchFactor at 4/28/2004 2:00 PM PDT

What's the record speed for beating Halo start to finish on Legendary? Well, so far there is no officially recognized record but that's about to change with the Bungie.org/Mythica.org "Going Nowhere Fast" competition!

As some of you probably noticed, the contest itself kicked off a little while ago but we owe it to all of our Bungie.net members to spread the word of this epic event. Everyone thinks they are good at Halo and everyone claims to have beaten the game in record speed, but up until now these claims have never been put to the test. What better way is there to pass the time while waiting for Halo 2 than blazing through Halo on Legendary and earning a prize!? Consider this extreme boot camp, your final training before taking on the Covenant in Halo 2. The Going Nowhere Fast competition will reward the person who completes each level the quickest on Legendary difficulty. You can use any tricks and tactics in your arsenal but no modded Xboxes or cheats of any kind are permitted. Each level winner will receive a cool prize and one overall winner will be hand picked by the judges to win an extra special limited edition Halo Xbox bundle. If you think you've got what it takes, head over to halo.bungie.org and read the full rules and details.

343 Guilty Wallpaper

Posted by SketchFactor at 4/14/2004 2:34 PM PDT

As another special launch week treat, we've got a brand new Halo desktop wallpaper featuring everyone's favorite chatty monitor, 343 Guilty Spark.

This beautiful wallpaper was created by Zo.E, the same artist responsible for nearly every piece of the new Bungie.net site. She was working on art for the navigation widget and the resulting image was so cool that we all wanted a desktop made out of it. So Zo.E did some more magic and voila, a masterpiece was born. Enjoy!
