Mokil (shown above in false-colour) is a small atoll formation of the Eastern Carolines, located within Pohnpei State 153 km east from Pohnpei and 113 km northwest from Pingelap.
With its longest axis orientated from north to south, Mokil has a maximum dimension of 4.5 km with a greatest east to west extent of 2.8 km along its northern edge. It forms an approximately rectangular-shaped structure consisting of an outer reef crest, broad reef flats and a shallow interior lagoon with a deep basin in the north. The 6.8 km² lagoon is partly enclosed by the three islets of Urak (on the south), kahlap (on the east) and Manton (on west).
