Ketoy

Ketoy (Остров Кетой), located near the centre of the Central group of islands, lies 19 km northeast from Simushir across the Diana Strait. The island is roughly circular in shape, measuring 10 km across with an area of 73 km². The terrain is mountainous and steep-sided, with its western and northern sides consisting of tall cliffs. Coasts on the east and south are lined by smaller cliffs of 30 to 60 m in height, dropping to boulder-strewn and stony beaches. The interior of the island rises to a height of 1,172 m. Northwest of the islands centre sits a lake-filled caldera measuring 1.5 km across.
