Urup

Fourth largest of the Kuril Islands at 1,450 km² and third largest of the Southern group of islands, Urup is located 40 km across the Vries Strait from Iturup (to the southwest). The small islands of the Chirpoy group (at the far-left in the image) are located 29 km to the northeast. The island has a length of 115 km with widths of up to 20 km.
