Vahitahi

Vahitahi is a small and narrow atoll measuring around 5 km in length, located in the Centre East Group of atolls 43 km southeast from the tiny island of Akiaki and 52 km north from Nukutvake. On the leeward side of Vahitahi there are around a dozen motu with an area of 2.5 km², while the exposed windward side consists largely of submerged to partially submerged reef. The central lagoon is shallow with no passage connecting it to the open sea.
