Igitkin

Igitkin, Aleutian Islands

Igitkin is the one of the many small islands belonging to the Andreanof group that stretch in a line between the larger islands of Atka and Adak. At bottom-right in the above image is the island of Chugul, lying to the south, across the Igitkin Pass. The northwest coast of the island faces the Yoke Bay region of Great Sitkin Island.

Igitkin consists of two units that are connected by a narrow isthmus — created where the Igitkin Bight (on the north) and Shelter Cove (on the south) pinch the island's width to less than 1 km.
