Kagamil, the most northeasterly of the islands that make up the Islands of Four Mountains group, is located 6 km north from Chuginadak and 2 km south from Uliaga (partially visible at the bottom-left of the image); the large island of Umnak (in the Fox Islands) lies 55 km to the east.
Kagamil measures 10 km in length (orientated from south-southwest to north-northeast) and is up to 5 km in width. The southern half of the island is occupied by the Kagamil Volcano (at right side in the image). Orientated from north-northwest to south-southeast, the volcano contains two summits: the southern summit reaches a height of 893 m above sea level, the northern summit is lower at 690 m.
Prominently marked by deep shadow in the above image (at left) is the tall — over 300 m — escarpment behind North Cove, facing the Uliaga Pass.
