Koniuji

Koniuji, Aleutian Islands

A small island (0.95 km²) of the Andreanof Islands group, Koniuji is located 18 km northwest from the Kovurof Point region of western Atka; the island of kasatochi lies 24 km to the southwest.

The island is the remains of a once active stratovolcano that today emerges from the sea as a highly eroded, steep-sided formation of 1 km by 1.5 km. The interior reaches a maximum elevation of 273 m above sea level.
