Sherburne Reef

A reef system of the north-central Bismarck Sea, Sherburne Reef is located 148 km southeast from Manus (in the Admiralty Islands group) and some 240 km north from the northwestern tip of New Britain. Its closest neighbour in the region is Circular Reef, 22 km to the southwest.
Sherburne Reef consists of two distinct reefs. The larger southern reef forms an irregular-shaped ring of sunken or awash reef enclosing a moderately deep lagoon. The entire structure has maximum dimensions of 7 km by 4 km. The smaller northern reef, situated 1 km distant, has a maximum length of 2.5 km.
