Taku'u Islands

Located 220 km northeast of Bougainville Island and 165 km directly east of the atoll of Kilinailau, the small Taku'u atoll lies remotely in the northeastern North Solomons Province.
The Taku'u Islands (Mortlock Islands) are a small atoll formation of 12 km by 15 km. The rim of the atoll is topped by around a dozen islets — one large island on the east, a number of small islets on the northeast, and a single small islet on the northwest. Three wide passages cut across the reef in the southwest and west.
